2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 Tech Overview

The 2023 Silverado 1500 boasts more technology than just about every other pickup in its class. Industry-leading features found on this year’s Silverado include everything from the latest driver assist technologies, like Forward Collision Alert, to an available 13.4-inch infotainment touch-screen display. All in all, advanced General Motors technologies add safety, performance, and driving fun to their entire lineup of cars, trucks, and SUVs. Here’s a rundown on some of the most notable standard or available tech features  found on the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500:

Performance

This year’s Silverado 1500 sets the bar high thanks to 13,300 pounds of max towing capability combined with 2,260 pounds of max payload. Chevrolet offers the 2023 Silverado 1500 with a choice of four powerful engines – including a 420 horsepower Ecotec V-8. The Silverado’s standard 310 horsepower turbo comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while all other options get an upgraded 10-speed automatic.

A host of advanced trailering technologies make short work of pulling big loads. For starters, all models come with StabiliTrak – an electronic stability control system that also adds traction control. Other standard features include trailer Sway Control, Hill Start Assist, Tow/Haul drive mode, and auto Grade Braking. The Silverado’s available Camera View technology offers bed hitch guidance, as well as jack-knife alerts, and the ability to zoom in on its cargo bed. The myChevrolet mobile app adds a little fun, as well as safety and convenience to the mix with customized trailer profiles, trailer lighting diagnostics, and trailer tire pressure and temperature monitoring.

Convenience

The 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 comes with most, if not all, of the same industry-leading technologies found across the entire line of GM vehicles. An available multicolor 15-inch Head-Up Display projects customizable vehicle information such as speed limit, sound system information, and the vehicle’s current speed information. A built-in inclinometer display is a popular feature with off-roaders, as well. The Silverado’s digital driver information center provides easy access to important vehicle operating data such as current speed, tire pressure, and trip mileage.

Fun to Drive

Rugged on the outside, yet quiet and comfortable on the inside. Every new 2023 Silverado 1500 trim comes with Push-Button Start, remote keyless Entry, and power, programmable door locks. All but the base WT models get remote vehicle start and an in-vehicle compass. Other available comfort features include heated and ventilated front seats, leather appointments, and a 10-way adjustable power driver’s seat. Top-of-the-line ZR2 and High Country editions add heated rear outboard seats.

Every 2023 Silverado also comes with a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. The state-of-the-art system features built-in Google compatibility with access to Google Maps with continuous real-time map updates, Google Assistant, Google Play, and hundreds of downloadable applications. Seamless Bluetooth connectivity along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto make hands-free calling and music streaming a breeze. Other infotainment system features that add a little fun to every drive include a color touchscreen display, in-vehicle Wi-Fi, and factory-installed satellite radio. Higher trims get bumped up to Bose premium sound.

Safety and Driver-Assist Features

The 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 offers some of the world’s most advanced safety features as standard equipment. This includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Front and Rear Park Assist. Additionally, all models come with Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Chevrolet’s Front outboard Passenger Airbag Sensing System. The available IntelliBeam feature automatically turns the Silverado’s high-beam headlamps on and off based on surrounding traffic conditions, making it perfect for back-road driving.

Parents appreciate the Silverado’s configurable Teen Driver feature, which lets them set customizable vehicle profiles for each key fob. This feature not only encourages good habits but also limits certain vehicle functions and automatically activates a variety of advanced safety systems. An in-vehicle report card provides information on the user’s driving, as well.
